I am trying to force myself to write more blogs and Heidi and Clay's beautiful wedding seems like the right place to start. I began taking photos for them after they had their youngest child. T heir family has so much personality and is so much fun to photograph. Watching their wedding brought me to tears, they included their children by writing vows with them and getting each of them a ring. Not a dry eye in the house, y'all. While watching Heidi and Clay during their ceremony and reception you could see how perfect for each other they are, from their sense of humor to the way they care for their awesome family. I wish y'all the best!

I am so excited to share these pictures with the bride! This was my first wedding as lead photographer and I am glad that Tiffany chose me despite only having assisted with weddings before. I think the pictures are beautiful and can't wait for more weddings in the future!
You see it all the time in military towns. Spouses often carry the weight of two in a relationship while their significant other is deployed. Taking care of every bedtime, every all-nighter, every scream filled grocery trip and sometimes even birthing their child.
"You will come to know that what appears today to be a sacrifice, will prove instead to be the greatest investment that you will ever make." - Gordon B. Hinckley
These photos are a beautiful reminder of what our soldiers and their families are sacrificing for our country. I thought the above quote was appropriate because not only are our soldiers and their families sacrificing so much for our country, but they are making these sacrifices because they believe in their mission. This new daddy knows that what he is doing is investing in a better future for his sweet baby girl that he met for the first time via Skype.
While you look at these pictures please say a quick prayer for our soldiers and their families who are making sacrifices daily.
I will now be offering "Fresh 48" sessions. These sessions will take place in the first 48 hours of your new baby's life and are casual laid back sessions. They will often take place before you have left the hospital and have the purpose of recording all of the little things that are easy to forget in those hectic first days.
I thoroughly enjoyed photographing O's first birthday! There were beautiful decorations and lots of love (and football) at this party. I loved watching the brother sister bonding over cake at this party and all of the fun the kids had! I hope you enjoy this slideshow and all of the fun candid shots!
Last month I had the pleasure of photographing two first birthdays in one weekend! One of them was for one of my lovely best friends! I love 'event' sessions because they are so relaxed and you get lots of great candid shots! Check out all of the adorable cake smashing goodness in the slideshow below.
This week I am excited to feature the Yurisich family who just completed a 9 month deployment. Mrs.Y was a third grade teacher at Barkers Mill Elementary while I was the counselor there and her children were also students there. Knowing them and watching their faces light up when they saw their Dad made this very special to photograph. I hope this slide show captures the excitement that they felt on Monday when their Dad came home.
Childhood is the most beautiful of all life's seasons. ~Author Unknown. Little miss A was a joy to photograph! She was so cute and cooperative and you can tell she enjoys getting all dolled up! She needed some photos for her pageants and I loved taking them for her. I generally take outdoor, natural light photos so this was a new experience for me. Let me know what you think!
I thoroughly enjoyed taking pictures of the L family. Their little girl had tons of spunk (just like my little red headed boy) and was a lot of fun to run around after and take pictures of. Pictured here are the little ones enjoying their parents(and fighting off their kisses) at Dunbar Cave State Park. We were so lucky to have Grandma and Grandpa there to help so we could get lots of great shots.
What a fun session! I really enjoyed capturing C and R's excitement. C and R found out the day before our session that they were having a boy and scheduled pictures for the next day so they would have this special time in their life documented in a unique way. One of the neat things about this session was the giant blue balloon. It was huge and it felt so strange to hold the single ribbon connected to it when it felt as if you were holding a bunch of at least twelve. R came with lots of ideas to try and they all turned out so well. Below are some of my favorite images from this session.
I love shooting at Liberty Park because there are so many options. You have the River on one side and the sweet walking path around the fishing pond on the other. A and R are Austin Peay students who wanted to have pictures taken with their dog, Benji. He did well except for the time or two that we tried to take him off leash for pictures. For fear that he would escape and R would end up in the pond with Benji we decided to keep him leashed. Here are a few images that were captured of this sweet couple and Benji.
On July 9th I had the pleasure of photographing the C family. We chose Port Royal for our location because Mrs. C mentioned that she liked photos with bridges and trees. It was a joy to watch little L race through the trees and climb the rocks. It reminded me of my daughters favorite book "Ladybug girl and Bingo". L adores her parents, and has such a playful spirit which is apparent in these photos.
My beautiful best friend is expecting a new little one. I had so much fun with them and their sweet girl.
